GROWING UP ARTSY
MY JOURNEY

I'm the daughter of a painter and have been working professionally since 1989. I express my life through my work - revealing the humor, grace, and beauty underlying the transcendent evolution of form, ultimately giving joy to the viewer.
I am the daughter of painter Ayala Perlman. Growing up my mom brought me to her college art classes. One day she took me to her ceramics class and with no instruction gave me a ball of clay and said keep yourself busy. I was very drawn to the clay, it felt natural and design images easily came to mind. I loved it and was hooked.
I went to college at Boston University seeking a traditional route of a business degree in marketing and minor in art. After graduation, I continued my education in Italy and ended up opening an Italian shoe franchise in Coconut Grove Florida. After closing it, I started a job as a merchandise window designer, I continued to take classes in art and clay. Then in 1990, I went full time in a career of art doing art festivals all over South Florida, selling at the Dakota Design Center in Ft. Lauderdale, and various art galleries around the US.
I have had my floral sculptures featured in Florida Design Magazine, numerous newspaper articles, and publications.
I love color and whimsy, and for me to share my work with others and have them enjoy it is the greatest pleasure that I can imagine.
